The amount put through the totalisator was £9,586, as compared with £8,515 last year. Bookmakers' fees amounted to £307 10s. Results:— Longlands Hurdles, If miles.— North Head 10.5, 1; Nero 9.0, 2; Corazon 10.9, 3. Also started.— Peregrine, Lebsccio and Atanui. Won easily by four lengths." Tune, 3min 18 l-ssec. Maiden Hack, 6 furlongs —Bridge 7.7, 1; King's Prize 8.5, 2; Cork 8.5, 3. Also started—Mayflower, "Water-o-milk, Ru, Master Stent, Akura, Polnices, Ambala. Won by a long neck. Time, lmin 16 2-5 sec. Nursery Handicap, 5 furlongs.— Xylophone 8.7, 1; Golden Water 7.8, 2; Boangeres 7.13, 3. Also started. —Elysian, Theodore, Glissade, Tepuia, Meremere, Scots Fusilier. Won by a length. Time, lmin 2 2-ssec. Porangahau Handicap, 6 furlongs. —Bobrikoff 9.11, 1; Gold Thread 8.3, 2; Sunbonnet 7.12 (carried 8.0) 3. Also started—Mon Ami, Vi, Diamond Star, Wimmera, Iney. First Mate led for the greater pare of the distance, but fell back when the straight was being approached. A great race to the post leaders resulted in a win for Tangimoana by half a length, Master Soult beating California by a bare head for second place. Time, 2min 38 l-ssec.
