FOOTBALL.
A meeting will be held in the Central Hotel, at 8 p m., to-morrow, for the purpose of forming a club to play under the rules of the Austra lian League of Football. Judging by the amount of interest that is being taken in the game there is every prospect of two strong teams taking the field. The annual meeting of the Wairarapa Referees' Association was held on Saturday evening last, Mr E. McKenzie being in the chair, writes our Carterton correspondent. Messrs T. Feilding, C. J. Mackellar, and D. K. Logan were elected members, and the following officers appointed:— President, Mr F. Roydhouse; VicePresident, Mr E. McKenzie; secretary and treasurer, Mr J. M. Nicholls; appointment committee, Messrs A. B. Charters, E. McKenzie, J. M. Nieholls. and the President ex officio; Vice-President of the New Zealand Referees' Association, Mr E. McKenzie. It was resolved to prccure some rule books for distribution amongst the members at a small charge. ______
