CARTERTON NEWS.

(From Our Resident Reporter.) Monday. Mr K. C. Drummond's successor at the Clareviile School is to be Mr J. M. Beechey. who has for a number of years held a similar position at the Dalefield School. The annual meeting of the Clareville Hall Committee was held on Friday evening, when the balance sheet, showing a debit oi £26 still on the Hall, was .adopted."* The receipts for the year from dances, etc., had been £52. Mr R. C. Drummond was accorded a hearty vote of thanks for his untiring efforts as secretary during the committee's three years' existence, and the matter of appointing a successor was held over. The death is announced from Marton of the infant son of Mr and Mrs R. H. Coker, formerly of Carterton.
