A MYSTERY.
MANACLED BODY WASHED ASHORE. Received May 3, 8.35 a.m. LONDON.. May 2. The body of a man, dressed in a woman's ball costume, and manacled, has been washed ashore at Penzance, Cornwall. It has been identified as that of a man named D. Panton, who is believed to have been an actor.
SUPPOSED CASE OP SUICIDE. Received May 4, 12.5 a.m. LONDON, May 3. The victim's name is Douglas S. Panton, a London solicitor and amateur actor. ' The case is regarded as one of fantastic suicide. The "Chronicle" states that Panton was the grandson of Mr A. P. Frith, a Royal Academician, and had recently been suffering from a bad attack of influenza.
