UNITED STATES TARIFF.
Received May 3, 10.10 p.m. NEW YORK, May 3. The United States Government, in anticipation of the enactment of the new tariff law, has notified Great Britain, Germany, France, and six other countries that the special tariff agreement will shortly be abrogated. LONDON, May 3. The New York correspondent of "The Times" states that President Taft considers that it is the duty of Congress to revise the Tariff downwards. He is convinced that the consumer is not being fairly treated under the proposals now being discussed.
