LADIES SINGLES CHAMPIONSHIP. WON BY MISS PDWDREIL. By Telegraph—Press Association. Received May 2, 4.30 p.m. SYDNEY, May 2. The weather was fine, hut wintry, for the tennis tournament yesterday. Mias Powdrell (the New Zealand champion; had a comparatively easy victory in the Ladies Singles Championship, over Miss Baker, the New South Wales lady champion. Miss Powdrell also beat M ! ss Thomas (Victoria) in the Ladies' Singles Handicap, 63, 9—7. In the Ladies' Doubles Handicap, Mrs Goldie and Miss Grey will play in the final tomorrow.
