COLONIAL SUGAR COMPANY.
DIVIDEND OF TEN PER CENT. SYDNEY, May 1. At the half yearly meeting of the Colonial Sugar Oompnay the profits during the past six months were stated to amount t0£162,632, making the total sum available for distribution £199,000. A dividend, of 10 per cent, is declared, and £56,500 carried forward.
The chairman stated that the production of sugar in Australia this year would fall short of the consumption, and some importation would be necessary. The proposal to erect another mill in Fiji had fallen through for the present.
