The Ladies' Bracelet Race from Palmerfiton North, which will take place next Thursday, promises to be a very popular event, and already over fifty ladies have nominated birds. This race is open to either youngr or old birds, and it is expected the full number of available birds (about 78) will be applied for. The Secretary of the Palmerston North Club will act as liberator for the race, and will also give the local Club the use of two additional hampers to convey the unusually large number of birds to the starting place When the hamper which contained the Masterton Homing Pigeon Club's race birds arrived at Fielding, where they were liberated in torrents of rain, some wag had written on it the following:—'Make the best of it, you will soon be dry in Masteron.
