LABOUR TROUBLES.
WHEELERS ON STRIKE. CLIFTON COLLIERIES IDLE. TROUBLE AT PORT PIRIE. United Press Association—By Electric Telegraph Copyright, Received April 29. 9.55 a.m. SYDNEY, April 29. Strikes of wheelers have caused a stoppage of work at the Clifton and South Clifton collieries. The late employees of the Proprietary and Block Ten mines have decided not to resume work until the companies officially recognise the Combined Unions. This is causing trouble at the Port Pirie Smelting Works, and a number of handd who resumed work were given a hostile reception by a large crowd, and two of them were assaulted. A strong force of police is required to keep order. i
