WEDDING.
SAVAGE—CARROLL. JJA wedding, in which was manifested considerable local interest, was celebrated at St. Patrick's Church, yesterday morning. The contracting parties were Mr Jerome J. Savage, son of Mr John Savage, of Lansdowne, and Miss Margaret May Carroll, youngest daughter of Mr Edward Carroll, of Southbridge, Canterbury. The bride, who was given aw*y by her brothsr-in-hw, Mr P. O'Connor, was attired in cream chiffon tafetta, with satin court train, and the customary veil and orange blossoms. She carried a beautiful bouquet of white cosmos and maidenhair fern.' The bridesmaids were Miss Margaret O'Connor, of Wellington, cousin of the bride, and Miss Mary "Savage, cousin of the bridegroom. The bridesmaids were dresssd in white silk, trimmed with chiffon lace, with white felt hats to match. The bridegroom was attended by Mr M. Savage, uncle of the bridegroom, and Mr Bernard Carroll, brother of the bride. - After the ceremony, which was performed by Rev. Father Saunderson, the bridal party adjourned to the "Arcadia," Tea Rooms, where an excellent wedding breakfast was partaken of, and the usual toasts honoured.
The bride's travelling dress was a brown tailor-made costume with a pretty green hat. The bridegroom's present to the bride was a handsome gold watch and chain, and the bride's present to the bridegroom was a set of gold sleeve links. The bridesmaids were each presented by the bridegroom with pretty gold bar brooches qet with pearls and rubies. Mr and Mrs Savage left by the afternoon train en route for Auckland, where the honeymoon will be spent. In the evening a most enjoyable dance was held, at which there was a large gathering of friends and relatives of the couple,.
