AN AMUSING LETTER.
The German is widely recognised as an enterprising trader, and the following amusing letter, received the other day by a well-known Maaterton business firm, from Herr Emii Aron, of Hamburg, is certainly evidence of the fact mentioned. "Dear Sir,—Herewith I beg to recommend you my firm to the mediation of the transports to and from the tontinents. My good relations to shipowners one sides, as wel as nay active and merry intercourse with these othersidea, compass me, to promise you fairest and readiest expedition, because J am latitude in the best manner of the perhap3 occurred fluctuations in freights, and being strived to avail this for my committers If it treats to larger and current transactions, than J am willingly ready, to mediate you contracts'with shipowners on separately reasonable rates and conditions, and J assure you absolutely, trusty, and best perception of your interests. Enclosed you find any dispositonstickets for kind distribution to your offer suppliers and farthers are with pleasure for your disposal.— In awaiting of your kind reply J remain yours vary truly. EMIL ARON." It is sometimes said that Britishers do rot "understand" Germans, and ✓if all the correspondence between them is similar to the above latter it is quite possible to believe that there may be something in the theory. The promotion of "active and merry intercourse." however, appears to be desirable, and that will probably come about when the British Navy deals scientifically with Germany's fleet.
