MASTERTON COLLIE CLUB.
At a meeting of the committee of theMnstertou Collie Club, held last Saturday evening, the following programme tor the trials to be held on May 26th and 27th was drawn up:— CLAPS I. Heading and Bringing Back and Holding.--(A) .Open. (B) Open only to competitors residing within the boundaries of the Wairarapa and Masterton Electoral Districts. Competitor arid dog to be at least three months resident in these districts. About 600 yards. Time allowed, 12 minutes. Points: Heading, 10; Command, 8; Bringing back, 8; Holding 4. First prize, £7; second, £5: Third. £2. 8., first prize £5, second £3, third £2. CLASS 11. Heading, Driving and Yarding.— (Open). Head and bring back 400 yards, drive through ring, drive (75 yards) through one set of hurdles 8 feet apart, drive "5 yards and yard in a pen of four hurdles (one hurdla to be used as a gate, and may be used as a wing). Dog and worker to keep behind sheep and tollow them through hurdles. Time, allowe d, 15 minutes. Points: Heading, 7; Bringing back, 7; Driving, 8; Yarding, 8; Command, 10. Prizes. —First prize, £5; second, £3; third, £2.
CLASS 111. Hunt Away (Openj.— Between three sets of flags placed one chain apart. Latter set of flags about 350 yards from starting point. Time allowed 12 minutes. Points: Hunt away, 8; Style, 6; Noise, 6; Command, 30. Firdt prize, £; second, £5; third, £2. CLASS. IV. Teams Match, 3 Dogs.-—Open only to competitors residing within the boundaries of the Wairarapa and Masterton Electoral Districts. Competitor and dogs to be at least three months resident in tnese districts, and dogs to be the bona firie property of the competitor.—First Dog, Hunt-away, 80 yards; Second dog, bring back to ring; third dog, drive 75 yards, and yard. Time allowed 15 minutes. Points: 1, Huntaway, 4; Noise, 4: Command, 10; 2, Heading, 4; Bringing back, 4; Command, 10; 3, Driving, 4; Yarding, 8; Command, If. First prize, Mr R. F. R. Beetham's special £5 ss; second, £3 3s; third, Wellington Meat Export Company's special £2 2s. In each class trophies donated by the business people of the town will be allotted later. The procuring of sheep for trials was left in the hands of Mr A. Turner and the secretary.
