SCHOOL COMMITTEE ELECTIONS.

MASTERTON. The annual meeting of householders for the purpose of electing a School Committee for the ensuing twelve months was held in the Drill Hall last evening. Mr R. Brown occupied the chair, and there was a large attendance of householders. The election of the Committee resulted as follows:-—Messrs R. Brown, A. W. Chapman, Chas. Perry, J. Carpenter, G. A. P. Townsend, E. H. Waddington, H. J. O'Leary, A. Hendry, and T. J. Thompson. The annual report, which appears elsewhere, was read and adopted, on the motion of Mr R. Brown, seconded by Mr E. McEwen. Hearty votes of thanks were passed to the Headmaster and staff, and to the retiring Committee. At the statutory meeting of the Committee, held immediately wards, Mr R. Brown was re-elected chairman for the ensuing year. The appointment of Mr Easthope as secretary was affirmed.

LANSDOWNE. The meeting for the election of the Committee was fairly well attended. Mr H. C. Robinson occupying the chair. The election of the Committee resulted as followsv— Messrs E. Welch, P. Hollings, H. E. Gosnell, E. Hale, P. Compton, Puhara Te Tau, and F. E. Perry. There were fifteen nominations. At the meeting of the Committee, subsequently, Mr Gosnell was elected chairman and secretary, and Mr E. Hale treasurer.

TE ORE ORE. The annual election of the School Committee lapsed for want of a quorum.
