MASQUERADES AS A MAN. iMARRIES ANOTHER WOMAN. WEDDING CELEBRATED IN GREAT STYLE. £y 'Telegraph—Press Association. DUNEDIN, April 27. "L. C. Redwood" was arrested at Bay yesterday afternoon, and brought to Balclutha in the •evening. Redwood, who has been posing as a man, turns out to be a woman named Army Bock, with several aliases, who has been before the Court several times during the last 20 years on charges of false pretences. In January last Bhe was in service in Ducedin, and during the absence on a holiday of her employer she bor.Towed money on the furniture. It is on that charge she is now arrested. She is about 40 years of age, and ■highly accomplished.
The police have been looking for "her for the past three months, but found no trace of h?r till Saturday last, when something they heard • about a recent wedding put them on "her track. It is said that Bock in man's attire stayed at Ottaway's boarding house •at Nuggets, and succeeded in winning the hand of the proprietor's daughter, the wedding being celebrated last>eek in great style, Mr Malcolm, M.P., being among the gue«ts. Mr Malcolm and the officiating clergyman made speeches eulogistic of the bride and bridegroom, and the Clutha papers gave a lengthy report of the proceedings. The prisoner is still in man s clothes, and was brought to Dunedin this morning.
