LAWN TENNIS.
THE SYDNEY TOURNAMENT. Received April 25, 4 p.m. SYDNEY, April 24. The Tennis Tournament was continued to-day. The matches between the ladies of New Zealand and New South Wales were keenly contested. The visitors proved too good for their opponents, and although two games are yet unfinished, the New Zealanders have practically won the Interstate matches. The following: were the results—Doubles: Misses Powdrell and Nunnelly beat Misses Doyle and Gardiner, Mrs Colquhoun and Miss Baker beat Misses Ward and Wellwood, Misses Powdrell and Nunnelly beat Misses Lee and Jones, Misses Gray and Travers beat Miss Colquhoun and Miss Baker, Misses Lee and-Junes lost to Misses Ward and Wellwood. Singles: Miss Gray beat Mrs Doyle, Miss Travers beat Miss Gardiner, Mra Colquhoun lost to Miss Powdrell. In the Doubles New Zealand won 5 rubbers, 12 sets, 113 gams, and New South Wales 2 rubbers, 8 sets, 101 games. In the Singles New Zealand won 6 rubbers, 14 seta, 11& games, and New South Wales 3 rubbers, 8 sets, 98 games.
