Mr J. C. Boddington reports that the rainfall registered at Upper Plain for the 24 hours preceding 9 a.m. on Thursday was 3 points, and for the 24 hours preceding & a.m. on Friday was 58 points.

The following is the Rev. D. C. Bates' weather forecast to 3 p.m. to-morrow: — Heavy winds are probable between west and south-east in all parts of the country, and colder weather shortly. Rain is probable generally, and snow in high country, especially in the South Island; barometer rising in the south.
