SEIGE OF TABRIZ.
CRITICAL STATE OF AFFAIRS. THOUSANDS CLAMOURING FOR BREAD. Received April 21, 8.45 a.m. TEHERAN, April 20. Ihe siege of Tabriz by the Turkish troops continues. Thousands of women and children are clamouring for bread. The British residents have cabled to Sir Edward Grey, Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs: "We are in imminent danger of attack, and owing to our desperate situation, it is impossible to leave. The consular guard is inadequate to protect us." A WEEK'S ARMISTICE. Received April 21, 11.55 p.m. TEHERAN, April 21. In consequence of British and Russian representations the Shah has granted a week's armistice at Tabriz in order to prevent the hunger stricken elements attacking the Consulate.
