RESOLUTIONS OF APPROVAL. By Telegraph—Press Association. . CHRISTCHURCH, April 21. The North Canterbury Farmers' Union passed the following motion to-day: "That, recognisine th« imperative necessity of England maintaining her naval supremacy in order to keep open our trade routes and u to ensure the safety of our seaborne commerce, this Executive hereby expresses its entire approval of Sir J. G. Ward's spirited and timely offer of assistance to the Home Government." - At a meeting of the committee of the Canterbury Agricultural and Pastoral Association, to-day, the following motion was passed:—"That this committee, representing the agricultural and pastoral interests of Canterbury, while desiring adherence to constitutional principles in the Government of the country, and regretting that any necessity should arise for a departure therefrom, nevertheless in an emergency of the occasion, entirely approves of the action of Cabinet in recognising their responsibility and meeting the same in a manner worthy of loyal and patriotic people by the prompt offer of substantial assistance."
