"RAINBOW" EXHIBITION.
In order to raise the necessary funds required to build a new infant room, the Methodist Sunday School officials have been, for some time past, working hard organising a bazaar and sale of work, and their efforts will be realised on Wednesday and Thursday next, April 28th and 29th, when the "Rainbow" Exhibition will be held in the Drill Hal!, opening at 3 p.m. epch day, ana continuing during the evening. There will be numerous stalls, side shows, and competitions. It is absolutely necessary that a new room should be built at once, as the present one is far too small for present requirements, as will be readily seen from the fact that on Sunday last there were, 89 little boya and girls present, theif ages ranging from four year to eij;h £ years, and the size of the present class-room is only 18ft by 20ft. The number on the roll of this class is increasing every ironth, and now stands at 100. Th 6 plans of the new infant room show that it will be 36ft by 32ft, and will accommodate about 150 children. It is to be built and fitted up in the most modern and up-to-date manner. There will be a raised pldtfoem at the front for the sand-table, and the floor will slops down from the back of the room to the foot of this platform, so that there will be no difficulty for the little ones to see what is taking place on the platI forim Room will also be left at the back for visitors in such a manner that they will not; interfere with the working of the class. The entrance will be into a lobby, and then into the main room. There will also be a cupboard for stores in one corner of the building. The new room will be erected on the vacant section at the rear of the church, and quite apart from the rest of the Sunday School. It is estimated that the building will cost £3OO. Mr T. R. Mannell, the energetic head ot the infant department, has now about £IOO (cash and promised) in hand, subscribed by a few friends who realise the necessity for building at once. It is hoped that the "Rainbow" Exhibition will go a long way towards realising the remaining £2OO. A thirty-two page programme will be issued at the beginning of next week, giving full particulars nbout the exhibition.
