< By Telegraph—Press Association. PALMERSTON N., April 20. Twenty-one cases of pears and apples selected from Wellington and Taranaki provincial districts for exhibition at the winter shows throughout New Zealand were forwarded to Auckland frohi Palmeraton yesterday for cool storage.' Mr Simm, Government pomologist, states that throughout his district, which extends from Wellintgon to New Plymouth, not more than five per cent, of the apples are affected by codlin motti in orchards that have been properly sprayed.
