Auckland Gas Company, has retired r. after 41 years' service. Mr Stewait, assistant secretary of the company : for some years, is his successor. At Greytown, on Saturday last, i Mr E. J. Haigh, son of Mr S. Haigh, •of Greytown, was married to Miss K, M. Poad, of Hutt. and sister of : Mrs Hart Udy, of Greytown. Misses E. Udy, M. Haigh, Thelma Johnson, iandDulcie Johnson were the brides- ' ..maids, and Mr James Haigh was best man. On Saturday evening, Mr G. W. -Deller was the recipient of a handsome set of silver-backed brushes from the members of the Wairarapa and East Coast P. and A. Society and Taratahi-Carterton Racing Club, ■writes our Carterton correspondent. Mr and Mrs Deller will leave to-day for Wellington, and sail on Thursday . for Home.
