FOR BRAVERY.
GOLD MEDAL AWARDED TO A HEROINE. MELBOURNE, April 17. The Royal Humane Society has awarded a gold medal to Mrs Kennedy, wife of a railway line repairer for conspicuous bravery in snatching a child from almost under the wheels of an engine. This is the first time the society has awarded a gold medal to a woman.
