MASTERTON A. AND P. ASSOCIATION.

MEETING OF THE GENERAL COMMITTEE. The monthly meeting of the Masterton A. and P. Association was held on Saturday afternoon last. There were present—Messrs D. McGregor, junr. (in the chair), E. Harper, O. C. Cooper, E. E. Chamberlain, T. P. Lett, R. J. Dagg, J. Strang, W. McKenzie, W. E. Perry, Bland Rayner, Q. Donald, A. G. Pilmer, G. C. Sumtnerell, J. B. Maodie, D. Caselberg, H. Morrison, W. J. Welch, A. J. Percy. A. J. Stune-Wigg, O. Percy, J. C. McKillop. . The Finance Committee reported a dr. balance at date of £4,656 10s 4d. The Committee recommended the General Committee to adopt the year' estimates drawn up by a special sub-committee. Mr H. Gillies, of Palmerston North, judge of the fat cattle sec- ; tion at the last Show, returned as | a donation to the Association his cheque for £1 10s for expenses, and specially mentioning the good work of Mr Pilmer as marshal steward of the fat cattle classes. It was decided to thank Mr Gillies very heartily for his donation.

A communication was read from the New Zealand Jersey Cattle Breeders' Association asking the cooperation of the Association in selecting judges for the dairy classes from an approved list drawn up by the Council of the Association. On the motion of the Chairman it was resolved to reply that if a suitable judge oould be obtained from the list submitted the Masterton Association would be pleased to appoint such judge. The Manawatu A. and P. Association wrote stating that a conference of A. and P. Association delegates would be held at Palmerston North in June 24th, and requesting that the Masterton Association send two delegates, and submit subjects for discussion. The Chairman and Mr W. Perry were unanimously appointed delegates, they being instructed to draw up suitable matters for the agenda paper. The Department of Agriculture forwarded a letter of hearty thanks to the Association for the grain samples furnished by the Association which, the letter stated, would do the Wairarapa credit.
