MASTERTON GOLF CLUB.
FORMAL OPENING OF SEASON.. The season'was formally opened by the Masterton Golf Club on Saturday afternoon, when a mixed foursome competition was held on the. links at Lansdowne. The links were in excellent condition, and the weather ideal forgolf. Mrs Hugh Williams, the wife of the Club's President, kindly refreshments during the afternoon for the players and the large gathering of visitors present. In the mixed foursomes, competition the best cards were as follow: Gross Score H'p. Nt. A. B. Lawrence] and" Miss M. Payton 102 8 94 ; W. H. Robiesun and Miss D. Booth 107 10 97 N. ,H. James and Miss Holmes 119 18 101 , A. E. Booth and Miss J. Robieson 109 6 103. J. B. Henry and Mies Petrie 119 16 103 W. H. Booth and Miss E. Robieson 104 scr 104 F. H. Elcoate and Mrs Henry 115 8 107 W. H. L. Galwev and Mrs W. H. Booth 119 8 111.
