MASTERTON TRUST LANDS TRUST.
The monthly meeting of the Trust Lands Trust was held last evening. There were present,—Messrs T. B. Miche'l (chairman), R. Krahagen, W. H. Jackson, E. G. Eton, C. E. Daniell, 0. Pragnell, D, Caselberg, and T. Wagg. A credit balance of £l2B 17 s lOd was reported. The Secretary of the Wellington Education Board wrote thanking the Trustees for the donation in aid of the Masterton District High School. Accounts amounting to £39 14s 8d were passed for payment. The secretary of the Friendly Societies' Demonstration in aid of the Hospital on May Ist and 2nd, wrote asking for the patronage of the Trustees, which was agreed to. Applications were received from the Masterton Horticultural Society, and the Masterton South Brass Band, for a refund of part of the rent paid by them for the Town Hall. On the ir.otion of Mr Eton, it was decided that the requests be not entertained, as a concession had already been made by allowing them to book at local rates. It was mentioned that the Trust had already subscribed to the Band funds. A suggestion was also made to assist the Horticultural Society by means of a donation to the prize list. Mr W. H. Jackson, Headmaster of the District High School, forwarded a list of applications for matriculation grants. Two tenders for the removal of the oldJTechnical Hall Street to Russell Street for the purposes of a"museum were received. The meeting considered the tenders far too high for the work*, required, and it was decided that the tenders be declined. The matter was left in the bands of Messrs Daniell and the chairman, with power to act. The next ordinary meeting was arranged for May 7th, and the annual j meeting for May 14th.
