PERSONAL.
Rev. Father Broomfield, parish priest at Coromandel (Auckland), died at the Hospital, of pneuraoni, at the age of 68. A farewell social was tendered by a number of friends in the Fire Brigade shed last evening, to Mr W. King, who is leaving Masterton for Greymouth to-day. A number of toasta were honoured, and a pleasant evening spent. The following have booked by the Royal Mail P. and 0. liner Mormoa, which will leave Sydney on April 21st for LondonMr and Mrs Wakeman (of Wanganui). Mesdames Har ris and Devme (of Palmerston Norkh), Mr and Mrs Frank White (of Tane, Pahiatua), Mr E. R. White (of Takapau), Mr F. G. Maunsell f>f Wairarapa). At the meeting of the Maaterton Chamber of Commerce yesterday a letter was read from Mr Donald Donald tendering his resignation as a member, as he would be absent from New Zealand for the next nine months. Many eulogistic references were made as to the keen interest Mr Donald had always taken in the business of the Chamber and it was resolved to place on record an appreciation of his services. Mr V. E. Donald was elected to fill the vacancy caused by the resignation.
