OLD AGE PENSIONS.
FEPERAL SYSTEM NOW IN FORCE. Received April 15, 10 a.m. MELBOURNE, April 15. The Federal Old Age Pensions Act comes into operation to-day. The Act provided for the paying of a pension of 10s a week to every person of the age of 65 years and over, or to those of 60 and upwards who are incapacitated from work. Women are eligible at the age of 60.
