A DARING BURGLARY.

By Telegraph—Press Association. GORE, April 15. Some time during last night the residence of R. N Jopp, at Riversdale, was entered, and a large quantity o£ jewellery, £money and other articles taken. Every room in the house was entered, and all the drawers rifled, notwithstanding that two bedrooms were occupied. The theft was discovered by a servant, who, on entering the diningroom at six o'clock this morning found the carpet ablaze, and a table cover just ignited. Used matches were found in all the rooms. Mr Jopp is absent in Christchurch, and there is no clue as to who committed the burglary.
