News has been received by cable of the marriage of Miss Kathleen M. Beau champ, daughter of Mr Harold Beauchamp. to Mr Geo. C. Bowden, 8.A., of King's College, Cambridge. Dr. Miller, of Masterton. who has acted as locum teneris for Dr. Cook druing the past few weeks, hat) been appointed house surgeon at Wanganui Hospital, vice Dr. \\ ithers (deceased). The engagement is announced of Miss Gwendolen Chase-Morris, second daughter of Mrs Chase-Morris, of Wellington, and granddaughter of Colonel Chase-Morris, of Dunedin, to Mr H. H. Vassal, of Oxford, England. Captain Watson, of tho Black Watch (42nd Highlanders), a son of Mr Watson, the well-known whisky manufacturer, was, on Wednesday, married to Miss Alice M'Pherson, elder daughter of Dr M'Pherson, of Dunedin. We understand that Mr and Mrs H. H. Cork and family will leave Masterton on Wednesday next. Mr Cork, as previously mentioned, has been appointed to the charge of the Post Office at Levin. Both Mr and Mrs Cork will carry away with them the best wishes of a host of friends for their future welfare.
