By Telegraph—Press Association. Received April 5, 10 a.m. SYDNEY, April 5. Artillerie was just beaten out of a place for the Hawkesbury Flying Handicap. Some good gallops were registered at Randwick this morning. Irishman covered seven furlongs- in lmin 29? Ec, Golden Slipper, running wide all the way, occupying lmin 32Jsec for the same distance. Maltine negotiated' a mile in lmin 45sec, and Flaxen a mile and a quarter in 2m in 15soc.
CRICKET. A letter has been received by the Secretary of the Wairarapa Cricket Association stating that the Civil Service Club (Wellington), which intended to tour Wairarapa during Easter, are now unable to do so. The Junior match, St. Matthew's v. Carterton, will be. continued at a later date, Carterton having been notified on Saturday last that the ground was unfit to play on, on account of the wet.
