Messrs .Dalgety and Co., Ltd.. Wellington, have received the following cable messages from their London house under date of the Ist instant: —Frozen meat: There is a limited demand for meat of all descriptions, and prices are somewhat in buyers' favour, especially for lamb (which is Jd p?.r lb lowar. Tallow: Since our last advices prices for tallow are unchanged. Messrs Dalgety and Co., Ltd., Wellington, have received the following cable message from their London house dated Ist instant:—The market is weaker, and the future is difficult to forecast. Buyers are holding'back. lhe Copenhagen official quotation is five kroners (about 5s 6d) per cwt. lower. The total imports of butter intQ the United Kingdom for week ending 27th ultimo mounted to 91,000 cwt. as compared with 88,000 cwt. for the corresponding week of 1908; showing an increase of 3,000 cwt. Quotations ure:— Danish, 108s; New Zealand, salted, 100s; finest Australian, salted, 935; finest Australian, unsalted, 100s.
