PHYSICAL CULTURE DEMONSTRATION.

AT Y.M.C.A. TO-NIGHT. One of the most interesting demonstrations of the Sandow system of Physical Culture yet seen in Masterton will be given under the auspices of the lopal Y.M.C.A. in their Hall to-night, by Mr R. 0. Jarrett, the famous Sandow exponent, who has been appointed Director of Physical Culture to the Association. Mr Jarrett has won high praise as an instructor on the West Coast, the members of bis classes showing magnificent development, as will be seen by a glance at photographs in Messrs McLeod and Young's window of some of his pupils. The Wanganui Education Board appointed Mr Jarrett to instruct teachers and scholars of the schools in deep breathing exercises, a j posiiton which he held for several years. In the demonstration tonight, Mr Jarrett will be assisted by his two boys, aged 11 and 12 years, who already show'fine development. Breaking chains by chest expansion, and tearing in halves packets of playing cards, will be included in the feats of strength. Hi s Worship the Mayor (Mr P. L. Hollings) has consented to preside.
