STOCK MARKET.
Messrs Abraham and Williams, Limited, report on their Eketahuna sale held on Friday as follows: We had a full yarding of sheep, over 2,500 coming (forward, and , a few pens of cattle. With the exception of young ewes in good condition sheep were dull of sale, the demand for breeding ewes being very slack, in fact pricea for sheep were down all round. We quote:—Sheep.— Good sound breeding ewes lis to 13s, cull ewes 4s 2d, to 4s 6d, 2-tooth ewes 9s 6d to 12s 3d, lambs 4s 6d to 7s 9d. Rams. —Romneys 1£ to 2 guineas, Shropshires (aged) 1 guinea, Southdown rams 1 guinea, Leicester rams 1 guinea. Cattle —Fat heifers £3 15s, empty cows £2 \os, steers £2 10s. Our next sale will be held on March 26th, after which we will hold our sales every fortnight,
MASTERTON HORSE SALE. I The New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Company, Ltd., report as follows on their special horse sale on Wednesday last:—We submitted a catalogue of over thirty horses, principally draughts, carts and harness, etc. Bidding under the hammer was without life, very few sales being made, although we succeeded in placing a fair proportion of the list privately, vendors finally realising that to sell they had to meet the purchasers in the matter of prices." Good draught geldings ranged from £24 to £26 10s, brake sorts £lO to £l4, Light harness £6 to £7 10s, hacks £5 to £7, ponies £4 10s to £5, carts £lO 10s to £l2 ss, harness at satisfactory prices.
