The annua! meeting of the South Wairarapa Poultry Association was held this afternoon, Mr E. Eagle, junr., presiding. The balance sheet showed a balance of £3 18g 3d, and assets oustanding to the value of £l9 2s 6d. A letter wan received from the North Island Poultry Association, advising that a number of championships were unallotted, and could be secured on payment of j an extra guinea. A letter was read | from the Wellington Society pro- j testing against the demand of a j guinea for the unallotted champion- | ships, ar,d the local Society resolved ' to support the protest. The election of officers rssulted: — Patron, Mr H. R. Bunny; President, Mr C. Reid; Vice-Presidents, Messrs W. B. Allen, Q.'Donald, J. M. Lightfoor, J. M. Nicholls, H. Deller, W. Toomath, and R. J. Chapman; Treasurer, "Mr E. Eagle, junr.; Secretary, Mr W. Tucker; Auditor, Mr K. J. Chapman; Committee, Messrs D. Reid, J. Standen, H. McPhee, F. Sunkee, J. Causland, A. J. Fisher, E. B. Eagle, T. W. Barnes, W. Drummond, H. S. Moss, F. J. Dillon, H. Meyrick, H. Catt. H. Judd, and C. R. P. Armstrong. Messrs Nicholls, C. Reid
and W. Toomath were appointed a committee to procure data for the purpose <of considering the advisability ,of holding an egg-laying competition. . A bonus of three guineas was voted to Mr W. Toomath, the I retiring secretary, which amount he | donated to the Society for special prizes. A meeting of thfc A. and P. Society was held on the Showgrounds this, morning, Mr E. Eagle, junr. (Vice-President) beinj;* in the chair. The treasurer reported that the debit balance now stood at £278 5s 6d. Accounts amounting to £122 Is Id were passed for payment. It was decided to ask Mr W. Feast to attend the annual meeting of the i Society to receive won by
him in the milk test competition. The date of the annual meeting was fixed for April 29th. It was decided to present the shield won by the Clareville School at a social which is being arranged as a farewell to Mr Drummond, headmaster. As Mr Deller is leaving on a trip to England on April 22nd, Mi? J. M. Lightfoot was appointed treasurer during Mr Deller's absence. It was resolved to tender a social to Mr Deller on April 15th. A committee was appointed to make arrangements in connection therewith. The date of the next meeting was fixed for April 9th —a week later than usual.
