(From Oar Own Correspondent.) Monday. The Athletic Club's :n;;.u:il t'sn-is were held on the 13th List, in a paddock kindly lent for the occasion by Mr D. H. Speedy. The weather in the. morning was unsettled, but cleared up at noon. There was a good attendance of the public. The day's sport went off without a hitch, which reflects great credit on ttie energetic joint sec retaries, Messrs S. Schofield and C. R. Stilborn and all the member of the committee. The work of handicapping wrs ably carried out by Messrs C. Fletcher and D. St«pr.en, and close finishes were the order of the day, while the judges, Messrs F. VV. Groves and A. J. Hancock, and the starter, Mr H. Mclsaac, also, gave the utmost satisfaction. For the horse events the timekeepers and judges, Messrs M. Sharp and W. Collerton ably filled this somewhat difficult, office. As usual, the horse events caused great excitement and some very clever jumning was witnessed; there were no spills.
