UNREST IN SAMOA.
NOT SERIOUS. Received March 17, 10 a.m. MELBOURNE, March 17. The managing director of two British planting companies in Samoa says the unrest in the group is little more than of local significance. The white residents are in a majority, and the natives are satisfied with German rule. He adds that the presence of the German warships is simply meant to make a demonstration in order to impress the natives.
