FOOTBALL.
IRECAND BEATEN BY WALES. Received March 15, 10.25 a.m. LONDON, March 14. In the International Rugby football game, Ireland v. Wales, the latter won by 18 points (three goals and a try) to three points (a try). It is stated that a senior team from Gladstone will compete in the Wairarapa Rubgy Union's competition this season. A number of wellknown Carterton players are said to have expressed their intention of playing with the new Club. The annual report and balancesheet which will be presented to the meeting of Red Star Football Club on Saturday evening, March 27th, shows that the Club will start the season with a credit balance of £B. The Club were runners-up in the Senior Championship to Carterton, won the Junior Championship (securing 11 wins out of twelve games), and won the Third-class Championship.
