STOCK MARKET.
Messrs Dalgety and Co., Ltd., report on their weekly sale at Eketahuna on Friday as follows: —Entries came in over advertised numbers, but were rather dull of sale We, however, sold the whole of our yarding / with the exception of one pen, at last week's rates. Very few cattle came forward, but those yarded sold freely, i We quote:-—Lambs. 15a to 7s 6d; 2' tooth wethers, 9a 6d to 10s 6d; I breeding ewes, 2 tooth ewes, 14s: full mouth ewes, 8s lid, 9s 6d, 10s, 10s 9d, lis; 2 and 4 tooth wethers, 10s 6d; Lincoln rams, 28s to 30s; Komney, Ito 1J guineas. Cattle— Mixed yearlings, 30s; mixed weaners, 15s. Messrs Abraham and Williams, Ltd., report as follows on their Eketahuna stock sale held on Friday last:—Stock came forward in excess of advertised numbers, a larje entry of sheep being submitted. Business at auction was animated, and the bulk of the entry was disposed of under the hammer. Prices, however, in sympathy with outside markets, were somewhat easier. The caste ewes offered on behalf of the Alpa?s ' Estate, Alfredton. were keenly competed for, the 4 and 5-year-olr*3 making lis Id to lis 6d, 4 and 6-tooths 12s lid, and the 2-iooths lis Bd. Two-tooth ewes on behalf of Mr Fred. Lowes, Rongomai, sold at lis to 13s, and a very nice lot on behalf of Mr J. Transom, Pleckvilla. at 14s 3d. A large number of rams were submitted, but the prices realised in a number of cases were lower, the demand in that district being now almost satisfied. The entry in cattle was very small, but buyers were, however, present, and most of the entry changed hands. We quote: —Sheep: Four-and 5-year-old breeding ewes, 9s to lis 6d, according to quality and condition; 4 and 6-tooth ewes up to 12s lid; 2-tooth ewes, small, lis to lis Bd, and 13s to 14s 3d for good sorts; crocky ewes, 3s 7dto4s6d; shorn lambs, 6s to 8s Cd; woolly lambs, 9s to 9s 7d, Rams • —Two-tooth Lincoln rams, 18s 4d to 2gns; 2-tooth Romney rams to l£gn; 6-tooth Romney rams up to 2gns; Shropshire rams, 2gns; aged Lincoln rams to 6s. Cattle—Two-year-old steers, £3; good weaners, 24a.
