MASTERTON TECHNICAL SCHOOL.

The classes in conncetion with the Masterton Technical School wili commence work this evening, when instruction in English and arithmetic—the compulsory subjects for the holders of free places—will be given by Mr C. N. Haslam. All applications for admission to the classes as Free Place Holders must be made to the secretary, and must be accompanied by the applicant's certificate of proficiency in Standard VI. After going into the matter with 1 the fullest consideration, tha I Managers have appointed instructors 1 as follows to therespectiveclasses:— Building construction and architectural drawing, geometrical drawing, and model and prospective drawing, Mr F. Edward Lamb; dressmaking, Miss M. Johnston; woodworking, Mr C. J. Ashton; plumbing, Mr A. J. Parton; commercial work, bookkeeping, Mr C. N. Haslam; commercial work, shorthand and typewriting, Miss Munro; sign and ticketwriting, Mr E. J. Chilton; woodcarving, Mr Wm Gardiner; freehand drawing, light and shade and painting, Mr G. R. Irvine; Civil Service subjects, Mr R. J. Foss; English and arithmetic, Mr C. N. Haslam; Pitman's shorthand, Miss M. Butement. The time-taole of c!as3es, which will be published shortly, will, as far as possible, be the same as that of last year. Instructors desirous of any alteration in this respect may confer with the secretary (Mr N. D. Bunting) this evening.
