STOCK MARKET.
Dalgety and Co., Ltd. ; report having held a most successful sale of dairy stock, etc., at Nainai, yesterday,;on account of Mr Jas. Ferguson. There was a large attendance of buyers present and competition was very keen throughout the sale, the "whole herd of over 50 cows averaging about £5 15s. Prices realised were as follows:-Cows in milk, best, ■£B 10s; cows in milk, inferior, £3 to £4,; springing cows up to £8 10s; old store cows, £1 ss; bulls, £2 12s 6d; yearling heifers, £1 ss; fat wethers, 12s sd; aged gelding, £3 10s; pigs, slips, 16s; porkers, 20s; boar, 10a; sows with litters, £2 15s to £3 15s; spring cart, £7; separator, £8 ss; sundries sold well at full market rates. The New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Co., Ltd., report as follows oti their weekly stock sale Eketabuna, yesterday:— We submitted a full cataloge of sheep, rams and cattle. .Bidding for all sheep under the hammer was somewhat slow, the bulk of business being done by private treaty, and rates a trifle lower all round, although good ewes and strong lambs held their own, o:.ly •a small proportion of aged sorts failing to sell. We offered upwards of 4T rams, Lincolns selling freely, as did a faw good Downs. Cattle showed ;no improvement on recent markets. Best ewes ranged from lis 6d to 12s 6d, others 9s tolos6d; 2-tooth 12s 6d; age ewes, 6s to 7s; best woolly lambs, 9s 2d, others 7s; shorn 7s to 7s 6d; culls, 5s 6d to 6s; 2tooth Lincoln rams, \\ to 2gns; f.m. Lincoln rams, \ to lgn: aged Romneys, \ to £gn; Downs, fgn to lgn; small pigs, 7s to Bs.
