DANNEVIRKE RACES. By Telegraph—Press Association. DANNEVIRKE, March 11. Splendid weather agan prevailed for the second day of the Dannevirke races, and there was a good attendance. The racing was interesting. The sum of £665 (?) passed through thejtotalisator. There were flight j bookmakers inside, and one outside. Results:— Hack Hurdles, H mile.---Scenery, 9.5 (C. Price), 1; Speciosa, 9.12 (Campbell), 2; Wakareao (Hail), 3. Also started—Hipporoffla, Whatakura and Robin Link. Won by a short neck. Time, 2min aOsec. March Handicap, 6 furlongs.— North Heai, 8.8 (F. D. Jones), 1; Toa Tuhi, 6.7 (Lambess), 2: Stylish, 8.9 (Mallowes), 3. Also started— Pluck and Merrie Rose., Won by three lengths. Time, lmin 15sec. Telephone Hack Handicap, 5 furlongs.— Hermia, 8.10 (F. D. Jones), 1; Iney, 8.3 (Mallowes), 2; Tino loa, -7.12 (L. Wilson), 3. Also started—Hereward, Martyr King, Waipunui, Ora Finset, Bonnie Doon, Kimmerian, Ra%era and Prevail. Won by about a length. Time, lmin 3sec. Tapuata Hack Welter, 1 mile.— First Mate 9.11 (A. Olliver), 1; Quandary, 7.10 (G. Price), 2; Goodwin Park, 8.13 (W. Price), 3. Also started—Windage, Mildura, Monsieur Beaucaire and Stormlight. Won by a length and a-half. Time, lmin 46sec. An inquiry was held into the running of First Mate on the first day, which was considered suspicious. After consideraton the owner (Telford) and rider (Olliver) were cautioned. Autumn Handicap, 1 mile and a distance.— langaroa, 6.7 (R. Young), 1; Sandstream, 8.9 (Hatch), 2; Vi, 7.13 (Lowe), 3. Also started Roosevelt, Ballyhaigh, Moloch and Waitapu. Won easily by about a length. Time, lmin 57 4-ssec. Juvenile Handicap, 5 furlongs. — Te Puia, 6.8 (Coleman). 1; Glissade, 7.0 (T. Carroll), 2; Daybeam, 9.1 (F. D. Jones). 3. Also started— Seraphic, Kiltie Lass, Ambrosian, Latchet, Ariom and Ruapare. Won by half a length. Time, lmin 3sec. Mangatera Hack, 7 furlongs.— Aberbrothock, 9.0 (Olliver), 1; Voetgang, 8.2 (Lowe), 2; Continuance, 7.3 (F. Cress), 3. Also started—Awha and Tuatahi. Won by a length, 'lime, lmin 30sec. j Kaitoke Welter, 6 furlongs.— Silken Rein, 8.0 (Langstone), 1.; Seaton Dale, 8.5 (Cress), 2; Rangihaeta, 8.1 (D. Price), 3. Also started—Martyrium, The Cockatoo, Aboriginal, Kurawaka, Loire, Moscow, Berengaria. Won by a length. Time, lmin 30sec.
