MASTERTON WOOL AND SKIN SALES.
Messrs Levin am: Co. Ltd., report as follows:—We held our monthly sal 3 of wool and skins yesterday, when t; e submitted a small catalogue consisting of 14 bales ai:d 60 bags of wool, 1,400 sheepskins, 120 hides and a quantity of tallow. There was the usual attendance of buyers and competition was good at market rates. We quote:—Wool: Crossbred, good, G£d to6|d; crossbred, medium, 5J to s|d bellies and pieces, 3Jd to 4Jd; lambs, 5Jd to 6d; locks, 2£d to 2|d. Skins: Fine crossbred, 6Jd; coarse crossbred, 5d to 6d; ; inferior pelted crossbred, 4£d; lambs, 4d to 5Jd; dead, 4.Jd to 4|d; short wools, 4Jd to 5Ad; pelts, 4d; merino, 4Jd. Hides: A very poor selection was offered, prices realised —Cow, good, 4|d; cow, inferior, Igd to 3d; calf, good, SJ-d to 53d; calf, medium, 3Jd to 4d. Tallow: Casks, - 20s 6d to 22a; barrels, 18s; tins, 17s 9d to 18s 3d; rough fat, lis 9d. The next sale will be held on Wednesday, April 21st.
