ATTEMPT TO ROB A JEWELLER. A SCHEME THAT FAILED. - THIEF COMMITS SUICIDE. Received March 4, 8.30 a.m. NEW YORK, March 3. A "swell" thief, calling fiimself "Dr. Pullman, of Chicago,'' invited a jeweller to bring £2,500 worth of goods to a suite of room 3 in the Savoy Hotel. The jeweller did so, and the bogus doctor attempted to escape with the booty. However, an assistant of the jeweller's stopped him, whereupon he drew a razor and committed suicide.
