PAPER C URRENCY.
Let the paper currency faddists talk as thay like, there is no value to paper money except so far as it is backed by gold, and New Zealand, depending as it does upon gold countries, simply cannot set up a paper standard of her own. It would be madness to try, remarks the "Taranaki Herald," ard a Minister of the Crown who encourages the idea may do incalculable harm to the country's credit.
