EXTRAORDINARY REVELATIONS.
SANTIAGO DE CHILE SENSATION. Received February 23, 12.55 a.m. LONDON, February 22. Reuter's correspondent at Santiago de Chile reports thac investigation into the burning of the Chancellory at Santiago de Chile, and matters in connection with the arrest of the late German Chancellor (Herr Beckert) on a charge of embezzling £I,OOO, led to extraordinary revelations. The public prosecutor came to the conclusion that Beckert invited Bod.n n to the Chancellory to sign certain documents, and the fact that Herr Welback accompanied Bodman saved che latter's life. It is alleged that Beckert intended to shoot Bodman and leave the revolver beside the body, suggesting suicide owing to defalcations amounting to £1,500. It is also alleged that with a view to compelling the conclusion that the body of the porter found in the ruins of the Chancellory was his own Beckert extracted two teeth from the mouth of the corpse.
