CASTLEPOINT RACES.
: ,By Telegraph—Own Correspondent. CASTLEPOINT, Saturday. The annual meeting of the Whakataki Hack Racing Club was held today, ±he weather being ideal for the occasion. The energetic and capable secretaries, Messrs A. B. Nicholls and A. T. Hancock, had made complete arrangement's for a success!..! gathering, and their eiforts were rewarded by a large attendance. Tiuce bookmakers plied thair calling, a.id did good business. The racing was of a particlarly interesting character, some exciting finishes being witnessed. Mr Arthur R. Harvey gave the utmost satisfaction as starter, whilst Mr W. Harvey gave every satisfaction as judge. Following are the results:— Maiden Plate.—Polite 1, graph 2, Lady Flintlock 3. Cup.—Lune 1, Matira 2, Konini 11. 3. Scurry Stakes,—Steel Gun 1, Sister .2, Fireworks 3. Ladies' Bracelet.—Golden Butterfly], Steel Gun 2, Cordite 3. Tinui'Handicap.—Matira 1, Konini ■H- 2 - ~ , Whakataki'Handicap—Steel Gun 1, •Golden Butterfly-2, ißime 3. Forced'Handicap.—Phonograph 1, Overrate 2, Sister 3.
