EXPECTED DEFICIT OF A HUNDRED MILLION DOLLARS. TARIFF REVISION. Received February 21, 4.30 p.m. NEW YORK, February 20. Mr W. H. Taft (President elect of the United States), referring to the expected deficit of one hundred million dollars, sais that many business undertaking i were only waiting for a revision of the tariff, when they would be pushed ahead. He believed that the normal increase resulting in the settlement of the tariff would be sufficient to meet the deficit.
