As the result of about twenty-four hours' actual pumping since the fire occurred at the petroleum works about 1200 gallons of oil has been obtained. There is a little brine in the well, but the manager regards this is an excellent sign. There is also a little silt, which is to be expected. The pump is working splendidly, and the oil yield is increasing. The manager declares that the prospects are goud.
