HASTINGS BAND CONTEST.
By Telegraph—Press Association. HASTINGS, February 18. Notwithstanding the troubles with the North Island Brass Band Association recently, the contest commencing at Hastings next Monday, by the number of entries, compares more than favourably with last year's contest at New Plymouth. Ten bands will compete in the"A" and "B" grade, and there are fourteen entries for the quartette competition, eleven for the B flat trombone, twenty-one for the B flat cornet, eight for the soprano cornet, thirteen for the euphonium/ nine for the trombone trio, five for the flugle horn, fifteen for the E flat bass, four for the B flat bass, fourteen for the BB bass, eight for the G trombone, eleven for the E fiat horn, and eleven for the baritone.
