UTILITY POULTRY CLUB.

CHRISTCHURCH, February 14
At a genera] meeting of the New Zealand Utility Poultry Club the acting director of the Agricultural College, Lincoln, wrote stating that the Board of Governors would allow a fifth egg-laying competition to be held at the College. Mr John Studholme, Coldstream, wrote expressing his willingness to [ give £l6 in prize money for a third "Studholme Test." Mr Studhlome's. offer was accepted with thanks. , Itwasresohed that <a fifth egglaying competition consisting of 48 i pens (of six purebred birdd each) be held commencing on April Ist next I and terminating on March 31st, I 1910. It was decided that £55 be offered in pr ; ze money, and that the prize schedule be issued at once. I The Secretary reported that Mr W. A. Nixon's Brown Leghorns won the January monthly prize in the present competition with 146 eggs,' Messrs R. W. Hawke's and A. Petrie's White Leghorns being equal for second place with 142 eggs.
